ASRock P67 Fatal1ty Professional Hi-End Motherboard With Good Performance And High Quality For Gamers Lover

By internalcomputer.com

The Fatal1ty brand has become quite popular with gamers over the years thanks to pedigree behind pro gamer Jonathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendell, and ASRock has now taken the series and brought it to their latest P67-based motherboard. The board is dubbed the ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional, which in keeping with the Fatal1ty theme sports a red and black design and uses high quality components such as premium gold capacitors, a very robust heatsink and utilizes the new UEFI BIOS.

The ASRock Fatal1ty motherboard is designed for gamers and as such supports an impressive feature set for this segment of the market. The board supports 3-way CrossFireX and SLI, includes a customizable Fatal1ty Mouse Port, has Dual LAN ports with Teaming functions and even has an on-board THX TruStudio PRO controller. All these features should help the Fatal1ty motherboard stand out in the gaming market and at $225.99, it is still reasonably priced considering all that’s included.

In addition to the gaming features, the Fatal1ty motherboard should also have an impressive overclocking ceiling through its use of quality parts. Throughout the motherboard ASRock uses all solid capacitors, but they have also included an Advanced V16 + 2 power phase design with a digital PWM. This allows the Vcore voltage to be more efficiently and smoothly delivered to the CPU, thus improving the overall efficiency and overclocking potential.

The ASRock Fatal1ty motherboard, from a design and feature set stand-point, appears to be an exceptional product. However, the real indicator of a successful motherboard design lies not just with these aspects, but also in the overall performance level. In this review we will be comparing the ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional motherboard to other products based on the P67 Express chipset to see if it can distinguish itself from competing offerings on the market. Let’s take a closer look

The Box
Box package is colored with the color of product characteristics ‘Fatal1ty’, the charming red-black.

The Board
Just like its box, this board is filled with red-black shades typical Fatal1ty.

This board uses 16 +2 power phase design with Digital PWM to ensure stable power supply to the processor and Premium Gold Caps who claimed to have a long shelf life. ASRock also provide CCO (Combo Cooler Option) to provide options for users HSF / waterblock that use the LGA775 mounting so that they can still use the old cooler on this board without compatibility problems.

I / O of the board is quite complete, there are 2 port PS / 2 for keyboard and mouse, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 fruit Fatal1ty mouse port, 1 eSATA connector 3, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 1 Firewire port, and 2 pieces RJ -45. All of the I / O is quite familiar to us, except the features Fatal1ty Mouse port (USB 2.0 Red top), which is claimed to provide flexibility for gamers to change the mouse polling rate of 125Hz to 1000Hz.

For the longest time ASRock was known to be the budget motherboard of choice. Yes, you will still save a buck by going with them, but you are now getting much more for the money, as well as a far superior product than in the past. In the case of the Fatal1ty P67 Professional you get plenty of extras for the money spent: the a new UEFI BIOS, Fatal1ty mouse port, dual Gigabit LAN to do Teaming with and many more options that we don’t see in a lot of competitor’s main boards.

The layout of the motherboard is just awesome. The whole black and red theme goes along with what many are looking for, especially with black interior cases being the mainstream. The advance phase power and the gold capacitors are another way ASRock is boasting their name when it comes to overclocking. The power delivery is right on par with many other high end gaming motherboards, showing just how far ASRock has came over the years.

There are a few things that could have been eliminated from the ASRock for one reason or another. The UEFI BIOS option is a great way to navigate through the options of the board but the background photo was a little distracting, even bothersome at times. With all this being said the performance of the motherboard and its overclocking capabilities has top priorities advantages. ASRock has really impressed us over the last year with their wanting to be known for more than OEM-grade or budget priced motherboards. They are continually integrating new features and improvements with every new chipset that comes out, that pretty soon they will be hitting the levels of the ROG and UD7 motherboards before to long.
